may the good Lord bless you

Today's First Reading is taken from the book of Deuteronomy. Such blessing was part of the Jewish blessings made by their priests, and was later adapted by the Catholic Bible. Something very timely for the start of a new year, as we invoke God's blessings. 

So I repeat the blessing and pass it on: 

"The LORD bless you and keep you! The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace! So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them." (Numbers 6:24-26)
